Lucknow has turned into a 'Blue Fortress' for Tuesday's Bahujan Samaj Party sponsored Savdhan raho, Aage Barho rally with people started to throng the capital in hordes while unprecedented security arrangements have been made for the occasion.

BSP members from other parts of the country, including West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh have started pouring in the city since Monday morning.

Lucknow has turned into a virtual fortress with security personnel being deployed in every area of the city to maintain law and order and to control the crowd. Most of the schools and colleges will be closed on Tuesday in view of the rally.

The rally will be held at the newly-constructed Mata Ramabai Ambedkar ground on the outskirts of the capital, where BSP supremo and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati will address the large crowd.

During her crucial speech, she is expected to announce some major developmental projects for the state along with taking on the Samajwadi Party for the police recruitment scam and other irregularities during their regime.

The rally -- the first to be held in the present BSP regime -- is expected to draw about 15 lakh supporters from the state and other parts of the country.

A senior party functionary said the rally will also clear the confusion that the BSP has been ignoring the Dalits, the main vote bank of the party.
