Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who was sworn in on Monday, has been given Z-plus security following an Intelligence Bureau directive.
Bomb experts, three armed guards, ambulance, pilot vehicles, a motorcade will move along with the chief minister, police sources told rediff.com.
The police and a dog squad will check the chief minister's house twice a day. His security will be supervised by a superintendent of police, two assistant commissioners and an inspector. The police said the security will be foolproof and due to security concerns, Yeddyurappa may not be as easily approachable as his predecessor, H D Kumaraswamy.
If Yeddyurappa decides to hold janata darshan on the scale that Kumaraswamy did, the police are bound to have security issues. Kumaraswamy used to meet thousands of people at his official residence once a week. It is, however, not clear whether Yeddyurappa will follow in the footsteps of Kumaraswamy.
When contacted, he said that he will decide on the same very soon. His first priority will be to get things in the administrative level moving, he said.
