The Bharatiya Janata Party had pinned it hopes on the Union Cabinet, which was expected to take a decision on the political turmoil in Karnataka. However with absolutely nothing coming out of it, the BJP in Karnataka is furious.
B S Yeddyurappa, BJP leader and chief ministerial candidate, said, "I am not upset. It is the people of Karnataka who are upset at the moment. The Congress will pay the price for this game."
The BJP leaders have now become impatient and have started discussions with legal experts on the next course of action.
The legal experts have advised the leaders to wait for some more time before approaching the courts. They are of the view that all remedies should be exhausted before the court are moved.
Another issue that the BJP has to deal with is the letter written to them by Janata Dal-Secular chief H D Deve Gowda.
Senior BJP leaders say that they will have to hold another round of talks with Gowda as most of the conditions laid down in the letter cannot be implemented as it be against the interests of the party.
New Delhi has now become a hub for politicians from Karnataka. While the BJP has its men camping here, the Congress and the JD-S too are not far behind. Three senior Congress leaders are in Delhi to pressurize the Union government to dissolve the house in Karnataka. The JD-S and BJP leaders in Delhi are however here to study the situation and report back to their bosses in Karnataka.
