Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy on Thursday conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of the state.
Heavy rains have claimed over 21 lives in the last four days.
Sixteen persons have been killed in Nellore district alone, which is the worst-affected, while four persons lost their lives in Kadapa district, and one in Chittoor district.
Dozens of villages remain inundated, while transport and communication links are yet to be restored.
The northeast monsoon has been vigorous in south coastal Andhra Pradesh and the meteorological office has predicted heavy rain and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours.
