A team of Gujarat CID officials, headed by Inspector-General of Police Geeta Johri, has arrived in Hyderabad as part of probe into the killing of Sohrabuddin in a fake encounter.
The two-member team arrived on Wednesday night from Ahmedabad, police sources said.
Johri, the investigating officer in the case, is likely to visit the CRPF Mess in Chandrayangutta. There were reports that a Gujarat cadre IPS officer, E Radhakrishnayya, who was posted with the CRPF in Hyderabad, had met Rajkumar Pandian, one of the arrested Gujarat IPS officers in the case, at the mess in November 2005.
The Andhra Pradesh government has categorically denied any involvement of its state police personnel in providing any kind of assistance to its counterparts in Gujarat in the case.
