We were back in the morning to see Aravan being killed and the breaking of the thalis.
If we thought the place was overflowing with people at night, the morning saw the entire road and the area surrounding the temple full of people. They were all leaving after spending a night there.
It was a scene to be seen to be believed.
Once again, we jostled through the crowd to see Aravan’s huge chariot being taken from the temple for a ride in the village. After that, he was beheaded. And, that was when all the Aravanis broke off their thalis to become his widows.
