Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh on Saturday said the expansion of Uttarakhand government headed by B C Khanduri would take place after the vote of confidence.

He dismissed any threat to the newly installed chief minister by the party rebels who want Bhagat Singh Koshiyari as the chief minister.

"There is no question of any rebellion in the party. It could be set in order by just one phone call. The expansion would take place once the vote of confidence has been attained. Chief minister Khanduriji met me today (Saturday) to discuss this matter," Singh said.

Singh did not answer when asked if the BJP had threatened to pull out of the Punjab government after Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's decision not to give water to Rajasthan.

Talking about the SYL issue he said that it would be better for the chief minister of various states to sit down and sort out the matter.

He said the party will decide the list of the candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on March 15.

"Like all parties, we too have done an internal survey and let me tell you that we are way ahead of all other parties in the UP polls," he said.

Vinay Katiyar, former BJP chief in the state, will assist senior party leader and former BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu and Kalyan Singh in managing the polls.

"We have divided the state into six units and each unit is being headed by a prominent BJP leader," Singh said.
