Police said terrorist ambushed an Army convoy, which was on its way to Bandipore town.

"Terrorists sprayed bullets at the passing army convoy resulting in on the spot death of an Army trooper and injuries to seven others including two Army soldiers, one Central Reserve Police Force trooper and four civilians," a senior police officer said in Srinagar.

"One critically-wounded CRPF trooper later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital while the other wounded persons are undergoing treatment," he added.
