Accusing Uttar Pradesh government of adopting apathetic attitude in handling the Nithari serial killings case, Jan Morcha on Wednesday asked it to come out with the 'big' names who were allegedly trying to hush up the case before it was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

"The UP police was under pressure from some persons to hush up the case. Recovery of 40 more bags by the CBI is enough indication to show as to how the police dealt the case," Jan Morcha President Raj Babbar told media persons in Lucknow.

Without taking any names, Babbar claimed that one person constantly tried to hush up the case and destroy evidence. He said Noida authorities used to get Rs 6 crore per year for cleaning of drains but for the past three years (during the Samajwadi Party's rule), no such work was done.

Claiming that Jan Morcha was the first to raise the issue before the media on August 3 last in Noida, Babbar said that despite his requests to probe the cases of missing children, the state government paid no heed.
