Two more exhumations are being carried out in Srinagar on Friday in the presence of forensic experts from the Central Forensic Lab, Chandigrah to collect samples for DNA matching in connection with the disappearances of two more villagers in Srinagar.

Late on Thursday night, police guards were deployed at the two graves at Wanipora Saloora and at Bazipora Ajas villages in Ganderbal district in north Kashmir to thwart any sabotage aimed at pre-empting the exhumation process on Friday morning, according to a senior police officer.

The forensic experts are accompanied by senior police officers, a magistrate and relatives of the missing persons. FIR's are already lodged with the local police.

On Thursday the authorities handed over the exhumed body to the relatives of the south Kashmir carpenter after the victim's father identified it.

The state government has ordered a judicial probe by a sitting judge of the state high court into the local carpenter's disappearance and other related disappearances in Kashmir.

"Killings for rewards or promotions is a heinous crime and those responsible for it would be punished as murderers," Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad said in the State assembly on Thursday.
