Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat, hit out at the central government for lacking the will to fight terrorism. He was making a statement on the Malegoan incident at the venue of the National Executive of the National of the Bhartiya Janata Party.
Modi has been on the receiving end particularly from the media and the secular parties for his alleged failure for not taking prompt action to contain riots after the train burning incident in Godhra in 2002 in which 59 passengers were burnt alive while they were returning from Ayodhya.
He called the terrorists who carried out the blasts at Malegoan as Maut ke Saudagar who are carrying out naked dance of terrorism while the central government is looking helplessly.
"President of India A P J Abdul Kalam while addressing the nation on the eve of Independence Day had asked the government of India to take several steps to meet threat of terrorism but the union government lacks the will to act," Modi said.
He refused to answer the questions relating to information received by his government from the intelligence agencies. "It is not meant for the information of the media," he said.
On Friday Modi had asked the media persons why incidents of violence and bomb blasts took place in Mumbai when there were no riots in Gujarat. He was defending the role of his govenrment and claimed that prompt action was taken to contain violence in the state.
