Pravin Mahajan, accused of killing his elder brother and Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary Pramod Mahajan, was on Wednesday further remanded to judicial custody till July 12 by a local court.
Pravin did not appear in person and was remanded to custody through video conferencing. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate B L Waghmare asked Pravin whether he had any complaints, to which the accused replied that he was feeling restless and not getting proper sleep in the night.
He further said that he was suffering from blood pressure and diabetes, and although jail authorities were treating him for these diseases he was not shown the reports of the various tests conducted on him. The court ordered the superintendent of central prison to provide Pravin with medicines inside the jail and also show him the reports.
On Pravin's plea, the court also asked the jail authorities to provide the accused with all the periodicals and newspapers prescribed in the jail manual.
