A disciple of a sadhu (Godman), known for providing spiritual peace to his followers, duped a person of Rs 20 lakh saying that he would invest the money in a 'deal' and in return pay him Rs 1 crore, police said on Wednesday.

In his first information report, Kaushal Gaur, a resident of Vrindavan, alleged that Ram Sevak Das alias Chhote Maharaj had asked him to invest Rs 20 lakh in an 'alluring deal' that would earn him Rs 1 crore in ten days' time.

The Maharaj had claimed to be a disciple of the revered Devaraha Baba.

"He told me that the deal was about some radioactive power. He said one Bade Maharaj was doing this deal with someone in America where this power was in great demand and fetched good money," Gaur said, adding, "I paid the required amount but so far nothing has happened. When I saw media reports about Bade Maharaj duping somebody in Delhi, I was stunned."

In his FIR, Gaur also claimed that he was now getting threatening calls asking him not to go ahead with the case.
