Sprucing up for the President

Further down a traffic island, and the wall on one side of this small strip of green had remained broken for a long time. Today, of course, it was being repaired.
Nearby is a traffic signal where one would normally find pavement-dwellers weaving baskets. Today they sat by quietly, watching the goings-on. The municipal authorities had told them to suspend their work for three days, but they had no idea why their livelihood had been hit.
