Central Bureau of Investigation Monday conducted raids at 11 places in four states on officials of the Food Corporation of India for allegedly procuring substandard rice and causing a huge loss to the exchequer.
The raids were carried out at Chandigarh and other parts of Punjab, besides Patna, Uttar Pradesh and Hyderabad.
CBI has alleged in its first information report filed at the designated court in Chandigarh that certain officials of FCI had procured rice, which was substandard and could not be distributed among the people in Punjab.
