Congress on Wednesday said it has not taken any decision on the issue of a sub-quota for Muslims within the overall reservation for weaker sections.
"It is a larger question on which no formal decision has been taken," party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters when asked about the quota for Muslims.
The Congress comments came in the wake of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's address to a Dalit-minority conference in which he said his government was committed to removing "inequities" and "imbalances" faced by the Muslim community.
