Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen fainted for a few minutes during a dinner on Sunday night; doctors said on Monday that it was due to dehydration.
Sen and fellow Bangladeshi economist Muhammad Yunus had attended the dinner hosted in their honour by leading Bangladeshi NGO BRAC.
Sen is slated to attend a number of programmes and deliver lectures on economy and rights issues under the auspices of CPD and rights group Ain O Shalish Kendra.
He is the second Bengali Nobel laureate after Rabindranath Tagore, the composer of the national anthems of both India and Bangladesh.
Yunus became the third member of the panel of Bengali recipients of the world's most prestigious award this year.
