The death toll in Saturday's train accident in Andhra Pradesh rose to 113 Monday with the recovery of two more bodies from the wreckage at Valigonda in Nalgonda district, the scene of the state's worst rail disaster.

Workers, engaged in dismantling the coaches partly under water, found two bodies crushed inside a bogie and retrieved them, a South Central Railway spokesman said in Hyderabad.

Till Sunday, rescue teams had recovered 111 bodies from the mangled coaches of the Repalle-Secunderabad Delta fast passenger and from the swollen rivulet. Of them, 43 bodies were yet to be identified.

With the completion of salvage operations Sunday, the focus has shifted to restoration of the track, which is on in full swing.

"Over 350 railway personnel are engaged in restoration work, which is expected to be completed in 12 days," the spokesman said.

The Commissioner of Railway Safety R P Agarwal visited the mishap site Monday and said an an interim report of the inquiry would be submitted within a fotnight and a final report in three months.

The accident occurred in the wee hours of Saturday when the engine and seven bogies of the train plunged into a swollen rivulet after the twisted and flooded tracks caved in following heavy rains.
