The people of PoK are unhappy over the government's slow response and two small groups of young men, most of whom appeared to be students, attacked half-a-dozen social workers with knives in central Muzaffarabad on Tuesday and Wednesday, local daily The Post reported, alleging that anti-state elements were 'conspiring against Pakistan' at this critical time.
The youth even refused to discuss their grievances with journalists, the report said.
A social worker, Meraj Khan, who was beaten up by one such group was quoted as saying by the paper that he had witnessed five cases of young Kashmiri men stabbing social workers and claimed that some of them had died, although other witnesses did not confirm it.
One Kashmiri youth alleged that Pakistan had failed to come to the rescue of the earthquake victims even after five days of the disaster.
"If rescue workers from Turkey could reach the same day, why did not Pakistanis reach Muzaffarabad before them," he asked.
