The Pakistan army and foreign rescue teams have set up three field hospitals in the quake devastated city of Muzaffarabad to treat hundreds of injured who could not be airlifted to other areas.

International rescue teams have been airlifting seriously injured victims to hospitals in various towns.

However, with the number of injured swelling, many patients are being treated on the spot.

Officials said a German relief team has set up a water filtration plant in Muzaffarabad to provide clean water to the quake-hit.

Though water is in abundance in Muzaffarabad where the Neelum and Jhelum rivers flow, the water has been contaminated by rubble in the aftermath of the quake.
