Despite India's denial of the allegation that its forces intruded into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and abducted a civilian, Indian Deputy High Commissioner T C A Raghavan was on Tuesday summoned by the Foreign Office in Islamabad to hand over a protest note.

Raghavan conveyed India's stand that no violation of the LOC has taken place as alleged by Pakistan to the Director General of South Asia in Pakistan Foreign Office Jalil Abbas Jilani.

This is perhaps the first time after the peace process started between the two countries this January that an Indian diplomat has been summoned by Pakistan Foreign Office to receive a "demarche."

A statement by Pakistani Foreign Office said on Monday that their Director General of Military Operations had raised the issue with his Indian counterpart and lodged a strong protest in this regard.

India immediately rejected the charge, saying it was carrying out operations to stop large-scale infiltration from across the border.
