5 killed after row with army jawans

Five people were killed and another wounded after they were pushed out of a train allegedly by army jawans near Shikohabad railway station in Uttar Pradesh at around 4am on Sunday.

Four jawans have been arrested in this connection, police said.

The incident, which occured on the Delhi-Kanpur section, followed after some passengers entered into a compartment of the stationary Farakka Express occupied by troops belonging to Rajputana Rifles.

Soon after, an altercation began and the jawans allegedly threw six of them out of the train, police said.

Five of them were run over by a speeding train on the adjoining railway track.

The sixth, who was critically injured, is in hospital.
