The panelists pointed out the factors that were preventing India from realising its full economic potential.
Raghuram Rajan, economic counseller and director, research department, International Monetary Fund, noted that on the IMF's trade restrictiveness index India had a score of 8, which placed it amongst the most restrictive countries in the world.
He said India needs to develop the mindset that characterises serious players in the integrated global economy. Such a mindset does not tolerate laziness, shoddy products, corruption and incompetence, he said.
