"There are reports in a section of media that the President appeared in some scientist discovery competitive examination in which a boy Saurabh Singh from Ballia, UP claims to have stood first in 2004. This is to clarify that the President had never appeared in any such exam," Khan told rediff.com on Wednesday.
Media reports said Saurabh Singh had topped the Scientists Discovery Competitive Examination, an exam in which Kalam had stood seventh and astronaut Kalpana Chawla 23rd when they were in school.
Saurabh Singh met President Kalam on Wednesday.
NASA officials, meanwhile, have said there is no such examination that they are aware of.
