A Shiv Sena activist on Tuesday filed a petition in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court seeking punishment for all the accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case, including Bharatiya Janata Party president L K Advani, for "disowning the act".

Justice Shailendra Saxena posted the petition, which also impleads the Union of India, the Central Bureau of Investigation and Uttar Pradesh as opposite parties, for hearing on Wednesday.

The petitioner, Bharat Nath Shukla, sought a "thorough inquiry, proper trial and punishment for the accused persons for not carrying out the demolition, but for disowning their act and misguiding the people in general".
