Militants kill revenue officer and son in Jammu and Kashmir

A revenue officer and his son were shot dead by militants and four persons abducted in separate incidents in Rajouri and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said today.

The militants barged into the house of revenue officer Nisar in Thannamang village of Rajouri last night and killed him along with his son, they said, adding that his other son was critically injured in the attack.

In Gandoh area of Doda, militants abducted three villagers. Two of them were later released. Militants also kidnapped a Village Defence Committee member from Pogal area of the district yesterday.

Sayeed dispels doubts on transfer of power

Security forces have launched an operation to rescue the abducted persons, sources said.
