One of the accused in the Godhra case has been rearrested from Bharuch district after he escaped from police custody from Godhra town on October 13, 2004, a police official said in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
"The accused Salim Zarda was captured from Bharuch district early this morning," the official, who is in the Special Investigating Team probing the case, said.
He, however, refused to give details of how Zarda was captured and said he would be produced before a court in Godhra.
The Rajasthan police had first arrested Zarda in Jaipur and handed him over to the Gujarat police.
The accused, a notorious highway robber, had shifted base to Jaipur after the train carnage in which 59 karsevaks were killed inside S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express train.
