Relatives of two British citizens, who were allegedly killed in the post-Godhra communal riots in Sabarkantha district in north Gujarat, on Friday filed a civil suit in Himmatnagar court seeking damages worth Rs 22crore from the Gujarat government.
Sheeren Dawood and Samima Dawood, the widows of the victims, and another kin Imran Mohammed Salim Dawood filed the suit, sources said in Ahmedabad.

The civil judge in Himmatnagar has admitted the suit and fixed May 6 as the date for hearing.
According to the police, on February 28, 2002, a rioting mob had intercepted the four-wheeler in which the two UK nationals were travelling near Prantij town in Sabarkantha district and allegedly burnt them to death.
The driver of the vehicle was seriously injured.
The victims were on their way to Surat from Jaipur in Rajasthan when the incident occurred.
