Police have registered an attempt to murder case against Telugu film star Balakrishna for allegedly opening fire at producer B Suresh and his friend, injuring them seriously and detained two persons in connection with the incident.
Balakrishna, youngest son of former chief minister N T Rama Rao, had allegedly opened fire at his Jubilee Hills residence on Thursday night after an argument with Suresh and his friend Satyanarayan Chaudhury, police said in Hyderabad.
Suresh's condition is stated to be 'stable' while Chaudhury's is said to be critical.
Suresh, who recently produced the hit movie Lakshmi Narasimha starring Balakrishna in the lead, had gone to the actor's house to discuss some financial matters when the actor opened fire.
Immediately after the incident, Balakrishna had then got himself admitted to the private Care Hospital in Banjara Hills, complaining of a hand injury.
According to doctors at the hospital, the actor was given 'heavy sedatives and was not in position to respond to any queries'.
Police were still clueless about the exact cause of the incident. At present, the victims are not in a position to talk.
They have seized two licenced revolvers from the actor's residence and detained his maid servant and driver for interrogation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that six rounds were fired from a revolver that belongs to Balakrishna's wife.
