France's rescue specialist, doctor in chief Pierre Paillet, is all set to board a flight from Roissy airport, outside Paris, for Sri Lanka. A French government plane will carry 100 doctors, rescue specialists and communications experts to the ravaged island nation.

Unicef is expected to announce an international appeal for $ 6 million to help meet the urgent medical needs of Sri Lankan children.
