Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav will expand his council of ministers for the second time on Friday.

"The new ministers will be administered oath of office and secrecy at the K D Singh Babu stadium tomorrow at 1530 hours," Chief Secretary A P Singh said.

"The chief minister today gave to Governor Vishnu Kant Shastri the list of ministers who will be inducted," Singh said. He, however, refused to divulge the number of ministers who will be sworn in tomorrow.

But Samajwadi Party sources told PTI about 50 to 60 new ministers will be inducted giving due representation to all the coalition partners, regions and castes.

The sources, however, claimed the ministry will not be jumbo sized as compared to previous governments.

Former chief minister Kalyan Singh had headed the biggest ministry in Uttar Pradesh in 1997 and his successors Rajnath Singh and Mayawati had also led teams with over 70 ministers.

About 20 of the 40 Bahujan Samaj Party legislators, who had joined the Samajwadi Party, are likely to be rewarded with ministerial berths.

Yadav was sworn in as the chief minister on August 29. He later expanded his Cabinet by inducting six ministers, two each of SP, Rashtriya Kranti Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal on September 6.
