Security forces killed at least 15 terrorists in an encounter in Lacchipora village of Anantnag district in south Kashmir, defence sources said on Thursday.
The encounter began in the morning following a tip off about their presence, they said. All the terrorists killed so far are believed to be foreigners, they added.
The toll could go up as the operation was still continuing, the sources said.
