An application was filed on Monday before the Liberhan Commission probing the demolition of the disputed structure at Ayodhya seeking to summon Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the light of the allegations made by former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh.
Singh had on June 20 alleged that Babri Masjid was demolished under the directions of Vajpayee, L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and senior Sangh Parivar leaders, who were 'part of a conspiracy'.
"I was the chief minister but they kept everything under wraps and even forced me to sign on the dotted line," he had alleged, a day after the Centre accused his BJP state government of failing to deploy central forces to protect the structure in 1992 at Ayodhya.
"Under the assurance of senior BJP and RSS leaders I had filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court that the masjid would be protected... but all of them betrayed me," Singh, who has since been expelled from BJP, had said.
The application was filed by Mohammad Aslam alias Bhure on whose petition the Supreme Court had last year banned all kinds of religious activity on the 67 acres of acquired land adjacent to the disputed site.
Bhure also filed two other applications through counsel O P Sharma seeking to summon Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani and Kalyan Singh.
The Commission posted all the three applications for hearing on July 10.
