The Congress on Tuesday kicked off its campaign in Himachal Pradesh, where assembly election will be held on February 26.
Addressing a string of rallies, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, his Chhattisgarh counterpart Ajit Jogi and other Congress leaders like Motilal Vora, Mohsina Kidwai, Anand Sharma and Arjun Singh targeted the central and Himachal governments.
Besides whipping up communalism, they said both the governments had indulged in corrupt practices.
Amarinder Singh said in Nalagarh, Solan district, that Chief Minister P K Dhumal had amassed wealth during his tenure.
"The BJP has institutionalised corruption, nepotism and favouratism," he said adding if elected to power the Congress would provide a transparent and corruption-free government.
Arjun Singh asked people to reject communal forces and strengthen secular and democratic forces.
In Hamirpur, former Uttar Pradesh governor Motilal Vora said terror had spread during the National Democratic Alliance rule at the Centre and a large number of people had lost their lives in Jammu and Kashmir alone.
