Communal clash erupts in Orissa town; 5 hurt

At least seven platoons of police forces were deployed after a communal clash erupted in Orissa's Bhadrak town on Saturday, District Superintendent of Police Mahendra Pratap said on Sunday.

Controversy over a football match at the Chandanbajar area triggered the clashes in which five people sustained injuries.

Two of the seriously injured were admitted to the Cuttack SCB Medical College hospital.

The injured were identified as Abhiram Mahalik (52), Purnachandra Mahalik (21), Gopal Mahalik (31), Sheikh Munna (31) and Sheikh Asmuni (32).
