Kaluchak massacre most inhuman: PM

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Tuesday termed the May 14 massacre in Kaluchak as "most inhuman and brutal carnage".

"Militants who have brutally engineered this carnage of innocent women and children will not go scot-free and will be punished," Vajpayee said after meeting those injured in the attack at the military hospital in Jammu.

Vajpayee parried a question on the possibility of war with Pakistan, but said, "My jawans injured in firing by militants want to go back to the field in case of need."

Accompanied by Defence Minister George Fernandes, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and Union Ministers of State Chaman Lal Gupta and Vijay Goel, Vajpayee spent nearly 40 minutes with the injured people.
