Two outfits claim responsibility for attack on Jammu army camp

Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar

Al-Mansoorian, an unknown militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack on the army camp at Kalochak on the Jammu-Pathankote highway.

Thirty persons, including three army men and three militants, were killed when militants stormed the heavily guarded camp on Tuesday morning.

Irfan Kashmiri, a spokesperson of the militant outfit, called a Srinagar news agency, NAFA and claimed responsibility for the attack.

"Abu Marsad, Abu Jaffar and Abu Shal carried out the attack on the army camp," he told the news agency.

Interestingly, another militant outfit Jamiatul-Mujhadeen also called the same news agency claiming responsibility for the attack.

So far, the police and army have not made any comment on these claims or on who was responsible for the attack.
