3 incidents of stabbing reported in Ahmedabad

Tension continued to prevail in Ankleshwar town of Bharuch district after a Bharatiya Janata Party worker was injured in a shooting, police said on Friday. Meanwhile, three incidents of stabbing were reported in Ahmedabad.

The BJP worker, who owns a provision store near Piraman Naka, was shot from point-blank range on Thursday, but is now out of danger.

In Ahmedabad, a student riding on the backseat of a scooter and heading for an examination hall was stabbed while two other persons were assaulted in separate incidents.

Indefinite curfew continued in Viramgam town for the second day on Friday after stabbing incidents on Wednesday, police said.

The situation in Baroda, where Chief Minister Narendra Modi led a peace march on Thursday, was peaceful, police added.
