Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will not celebrate Holi this year in view of the Gujarat violence, in which hundreds of people have lost their lives.
This will be the second consecutive year that the prime minister is forgoing Holi celebrations.
Last year he did not celebrate Holi in view of the devastating earthquake in Gujarat, an official spokesman said.
