212 bodies buried in Ahmedabad graveyards

As many as 212 bodies of men, women and children, victims of the violence in Gujarat, were buried in graveyards at Dhudeshwar, Juhapura, Sarkhej and Sarangpur during the last three days.

The bodies, mostly burnt, were brought from Naroda, Sejpur Bogha and other parts of the city, Ataullah Khan, a social worker who was overseeing the burial, said on Wednesday.

The bodies were brought from the government-run Civil Hospital and other hospitals run by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, he said.

As many as 75 bodies were buried on Wednesday, he said, adding that three more mass graveyards were kept ready for the remaining bodies.

Separate graves were prepared for men, women and children, he said.
