PM convenes meet to discuss Gujarat, Ayodhya situations

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has convened a meeting of prominent opposition leaders on Friday evening to discuss the situation in Gujarat and Ayodhya.

The meeting will be held at his residence at 1730 hours, official sources said.

Among those likely to participate include Congress president and leader of opposition Sonia Gandhi, senior Congress leader Manmohan Singh, former prime ministers I K Gujral and Chandrashekhar, Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav, BSP supremo Mayawati and leaders of Left parties, including Somnath Chatterjee and A B Bardhan.
