US trying for permanent solution to terrorism faced by India

United States is making 'persistent' attempts to find a permanent solution to the problem of cross-border terrorism faced by India from Pakistan, state department spokesman Richard Boucher has said.

"We are trying persistently to end cross-border terrorism across the Line of Control from the Pakistani side, permanently," Boucher said on Friday.

Stating that there has been a de-escalation of tensions between both India and Pakistan lately, he said, "Both sides must continue taking positive steps to bring down tensions."

"In that direction (to reduce tensions), we are still in touch with the parties through our ambassadors primarily. We are trying to work those things," he said. Answering a question, Boucher said, "Infiltration into Indian territory has declined significantly."
