Abdul Kalam meets Vajpayee

The National Democratic Alliance nominee for the presidential poll A P J Abdul Kalam met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Monday soon after he arrived in New Delhi from Chennai.

Official sources said it was a "courtesy meeting."

Earlier, Kalam, who is expected to file his nomination papers on Tuesday, was received at the airport by Defence Minister George Fernandes and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pramod Mahajan accompanied Kalam to the capital from Chennai.

Kalam is also expected to meet Fernandes and Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav.
