Kalam leaves for Delhi to
file nomination papers

Presidential candidate and nuclear scientist Dr A P J Abdul Kalam left Chennai on Monday morning for New Delhi to file his nomination papers.

He was accompanied by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pramod Mahajan.

Dr Kalam is scheduled to meet Prime Minister A B Vajpayee over lunch.

He was seen off at the airport by some Tamil Nadu state ministers and MDMK leader Vaiko, among others.
