Pak shell lands in Kargil market, residents panic

Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar

One person was injured when a Pakistani artillery shell exploded in the main market in Kargil on Saturday afternoon.

A bystander Nazir Ahmad was injured and was shifted to a hospital.

Police said the explosion triggered panic among the residents.

The streets immediately emptied and shopkeepers downed their shutters.
