Justice Venkataswami Commission counsel Dyan Krishnan on Wednesday said he has been 'facing pressures' in his probe into tehelka.com case relating to alleged corruption in defence deals.
He claimed to have received 'threatening phone calls' also.
Krishan, however, said these pressures 'would not deter his team from doing its job'.
Reacting to former Samata Party president Jaya Jaitly's counsel Niloy Dutta's remarks questioning the stand of the Commission and its counsel, Krishnan said that the Commission's counsel were free to have their own opinion about any particular matter and it was not necessary that they should subscribe to what other counsel thought.
Dutta, immediately after the Commission's counsel Siddarth Aggarwal cross-examined tehelka.com Managing Editor Tarun Tejpal, said that Aggarwal never put any suggestion about any wrongdoing while questioning Tejpal.
"Does that mean that he did not have any case against Tejpal?" Dutta asked, adding if his stand reflected the Commission's view in the matter.
The matter was disposed by the Commission as 'unpleasant'.
