While the Delhi police has been telling the courts that Madhu Sharma is not cooperating with the investigation, the latter claimed that neither had the Delhi police approached her for questioning nor served a notice under the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
"The Delhi police is trying to book me only because I stood up for my husband and exposed the fact that he is being framed by political powers," she said in a statement issued in Panchkula on Tuesday evening.
"With no substantial evidence against him (R K Sharma), the Delhi police have now stooped to the level of considering my arrest. By doing so, it has exposed once again a sheer disregard for civil liberties and dignity of womenfolk," she said.
"I have full faith in the judiciary and we will approach the higher courts," she said reacting to rejection of Sharma's bail plea by a Delhi court.
