10 injured in grenade blast in J&K

Ten people were injured in a grenade explosion triggered by militants targeting a security convoy at Bijbehara on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on Thursday, a police spokesman said.

The ultras lobbed a grenade towards the convoy, but missed it. It landed on the road injuring 10 pedestrians and damaging a civilian water tanker vehicle, the spokesman said.

Four of injured, who received grievous splinter injuries, were referred to a Srinagar hospital, he said. No militant outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the blast, he added.
