S M Khan appointed press secretary to President

S M Khan, a senior Indian Information Service officer, has been appointed press secretary to the President A P J Abdul Kalam.

Khan, the spokesman of the Central Bureau of Investigation for almost 13 years, takes over his new assignment on Thursday replacing Satyanarain Sahu.

He belongs to the 1982 batch of the IIS and served the CBI since October 1989 as its Principal Information Officer.

A gold medallist in LLM and LLB, Khan got his Masters of Science degree from University of Wales, United Kingdom.

Prior to his stint at the CBI, Khan served the Press Information Bureau, Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity and All India Radio.
