Congress to boycott panel probing
Orissa assembly attack

Giridhar Gopal in Bhubaneswar

The Congress would boycott the 20-member committee that was formed to probe the March 16 attack on the Orissa assembly allegedly by activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal.

Assembly speaker Sarat Kumar Kar, who had formed the committee, would be intimated of the decision in a day or two, leader of opposition Ramakanta Mishra said on Thursday.

"The attack was video graphed. The newspapers had carried the photographs of those vandalised our democratic institution. There is no need of a house committee when the accused are known," he said.
